I wrote 'Right to Love' after George Bush Jr. won a second term. I went down and sat by the Hudson River with my banjo and tried to make sense of it all.My thoughts went back to England, and the fight for the Right to Vote. Emily Pankhurst and the Suffragettes on hunger strike, and everything they fought for a century ago.... After a while watching the tug boats go up and down river, I wound up thinking about what it means when you lose the right to something, and as much as you might be a socially conscious person - there is no-one to blame but you.
