From the recording January Morning

I love NYC when it snows! The whole town becomes silently peaceful and appears so pristine for a few short hours - before it all turns to brown slush! There have been blizzards here where folks had to search for their car by digging around an ariel/radio antennae to see if that was the right color car at the bottom of it. This song is about finding love in the heart of a city snow storm.....and also the isolation of choosing a life in a remote part of the country side.

Lyrics

January morning,
see my breath,
Stars are shining up above your sleepy head
Circle window, wooden porch
arms fly open, all the way, down in Arkansas

(Chorus)
Do i miss the city?
do i miss that town?
I don't miss a thing
as long as you're around
just as long as you're around

Road bends like a snake down to Viney Creek
we're all expecting snow on sugar hill,
end of the week
Lucinda's blankets, faerie Gina's quilt
keeps us warm tonight
tucked into these rolling hills

*chorus
Do I miss the city, do i miss that town?
I don't miss a thing
As long as you're around
Just as long as you're around

Funny how the high-way keeps on reminding
there's diamonds in the snow
and bless my soul
the moon will light them

*chorus
Do I miss the city? Do i miss that town?
I don't miss a thing
As long as you're around
Just as long as you're around.
