New York City's longest running honky tonk stops having live music July 31st. Another sign of the changing landscape for venue owner/operators due to unbelievable rent hikes and new neighbours that fail to appreciate the realm. Thanks to Jack Grace, I've seen so many brilliant bands here over the last ten years. The sound engineers and the wait staff and bartenders are all terrific, too. The Rodeo is not closing down, just no longer having live music is all I know. I've invited long time East Village musician, photographer and DJ Dina Regine to play the late set and close out the night. Her latest album 'Right On. Alright' is brilliant 70's style soul music.
